ASyn?  Have you been watching the developments in Oorah=noes?@  Malcolm asked the All-Mother.

AYes, I=ve been checking in from time to time,@ Syn responded.

AWill we be getting involved?  I think Louis is up to no good,@  Malcolm replied

ANo, I want to see events progress.  I=ve not divined what Louis is up to and I want him to play his hand.  Be assured that when there is a need for justice you will be released,@ Syn said.

AThank you my grace.  I continue to apologize for my son=s behavior.  He will be disciplined well this time,@ Malcolm said.

AThings are as they are and will be as they will be.  Louis plays a part in the balance just as the rest of us play.@

AA father still feels regret,@ Malcolm said quietly

AIf events progress as I believe they will, I may actually have to give Each-of-You true godhood.@

AA difficult choice my grace,@ Malcolm said through a smile.

AI believe it is time for a godsmoot,@ Syn said.

AI shall begin the process.  When are all required to be present?@

ATwo cycles hence.@

ANot much time my lady.  Hel and Louis will be unhappy.@

ATheir unhappiness balances your happiness,@ She responded.

AWhy must all be in balance?  For once I=d like the scales to tip,@  Malcolm said abit annoyed.

AThe scales become unbalanced when they need to be unbalanced.  You know that as well as I do.  We unbalance the scales to force balance,@  Syn responded gently.

AI know but sometimes I don=t like it!  Shall I invite Each-of-You to the godsmoot?@

AYes, let=s see how Louis responds,@ Syn said.

AYou=re not as neutral and balanced as you=d like all to think are you m=lady.@

AYou think based on your desires.  I act upon maintaining the balance of Eoc,@ Syn replied with a smile.  AEach-of-You brings unevenness to our order.  Thus, there must be a response either from him or from some other place as yet to be divined.  I am simply a facilitator and nothing more.@

Aright,@  Malcolm responded dryly.  AThat=s why you continue to give patronage to magicks, wizards, and sorcery in all their various forms.@

AThe existence of the essence of magick, in all of it=s many forms, is the key to maintaining the balanced order of Eoc, more so than any other.  Malcolm, you know that,@ Syn said a little miffed.

AAnd why shall I say you=ve called the godsmoot?@

AWhy, to study the balance of Eoc,@ Syn responded.

AHel, will desire more.@

AThen she must seek more and not beg for it,@  Syn replied.

ALouis will refuse.@

ALouis will be here.  He may come kicking, screaming, and biting but he cannot resist an opportunity to impress himself upon others.  I=m actually surprised he=s not made an appearance of late.@

AThat=s because I told the boy not to appear unless summoned,@  Malcolm said quietly.

AAh, then tell him he is summoned,@ Syn said.

AAnd what will be the punishment for those who do not attend?@  Malcolm asked.

AAs usually, they will be isolated and stripped of their divinity for one rotation and placed on the surface of Eoc.@

ASo be it, m=lady.@

Malcolm took his leave of Syn=s throne room.  After he left the walls of marble, jade, and Eoc=s blood dissolved into nothingness and Syn sat upon her throne in the middle of nothing.  It was time for her to meditate on the impending imbalance within the universe and on Eoc.  There was much work ahead and it would start with the godsmoot.

What was Louis planning and what to do with the gnome Each-of-You.  She would have to discipline Louis for sending the visions to the Halfling but she would also not restrict him from further behavior.  The events set in motion must be allowed to play themselves out.

APoor Louis, I think I=d=ve taken the dark path myself if I=d been forced to grow up with Malcolm for a father.@  She thought.  AIt may be time to bring Father Nathan into this situation or perhaps the Diamond Butterfly to bring balance to the interplay between Louis, Each-of-You and Boober.

Perhaps, the good Father can keep an eye on Hal?  I can=t believe Louis put such a big fish in a small pond.  He=s got something very serious brewing and it probably has something to do with how Each-of-You completely humiliated him.

I must consider placing a Halfling on the divine council; perhaps to balance the placement of Each-of-You if such a thing comes to fruition?@

Syn emerged from her meditations and called her avatar the Half-Elven wizard Dougal, AThere=s to be a godsmoot, two cycles hence.  I want you to keep an eye on Hal for me.  He may try something while we are meeting.@

AYes, my grace,@ Dougal responded with a smile.
